Indianapolis, IN - September, 2004. The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township, in Indianapolis, Indiana, has recently outfitted its entire fleet of 150 school buses with Synovia’s GPS hardware. The district is the first out of nine districts in Indianapolis to equip its entire fleet of buses with GPS. After researching GPS systems for nearly six years, the district has decided to go with a company they can trust, Synovia.
When asked how the district has benefited after using the system for only one month, the transportation director, Joyce West, replied, “This is a great tool for answering parent calls about stops and routes and for increasing the overall safety of passengers and drivers.”
The district is looking forward to utilizing the system during the cold and unpredictable winter months ahead. Being able to locate buses on-demand will provide the transportation office the ability to help locate and reroute drivers in real-time.
